Well it's been a few weeks working out, I've kinda slacked this last week but I'm getting ready to do Sabrina's Sexy in Six workout starting tomorrow (Monday 5/9/11). Even with the slacking the last week, I've still been busy, cleaning out the bedroom (looks SOOO much better) and now I have a lot more room to do massages in there. (btw I am looking for a space to do massage that is cheap in my area).
Anyway I do have a new Picture to post up. I feel a lot better, got a lot more stamina that I did at the start of this. I'm not a very proficient writer so it's been a bit difficult for me to get posts up since I'm not a great writer and getting my thoughts out sometimes just doesn't work.
Here's the Pic:
Still got the bell, but while it looks the same I can feel the difference, particularly in the front and the sides.
Here's to the next Six weeks, and time to shed the inches! Good luck to everyone out there that is doing the workout!

Eating Healthy
Eating healthy...one of my biggest issues, particularly first thing in the morning. I'm a student, for those that don't know, for the last year my schedule was really hectic, I had to be to class by 8am Wednesday and Friday, and usually between 8:30 and 9am. For most of the year I would have to be up by 6-6:30am and out the door by 7am. In the past I would more often than not stop at McDonald's or Arby's and occasionally I would stop at Subway. Looking back I have to kick myself for not eating the right stuff and for spending money that I shouldn't have.
Well now I'm making theattempt to change that. Scratch that, I am changing that. Changing a habit can be a long arduous process but well worth it in the end. Changing my eating habits is going to be a struggle. Anything worth doing isn't easy.
Anyway, this morning I tried something new, I might seem odd, but it's worth trying and it's pretty good. I got the idea from Sabrina Domenosky from her blog/workout program, Sexy in Six weeks, which you can find here and the video.
It was really good. I used mushrooms, carrots (orange and yellow), green beans and a spinach salad mix. I probably cheated a little bit and put some Ranch dressing on it (not a lot). I know it sounds kinda crazy, but it was good. Using the coconut oil kept everything from sticking to the pan, including the eggs. Whats really good about this is that you can use ANY combination of veggies so even though it's the "same" thing everyday, it can still be different. I highly suggest it and will be doing this more often.

The Starting Pictures
One of the key motivating factors that people use are before and after pictures, well I'll be no different. At lest once a month I'll post pictures of myself and how my body is changing. This will be the first pictures I post. These are from my last year at the Institute for Massage Education at Kalamazoo Center for the Healing Arts. Where I graduated from in February,(best massage therapy school in southwest Michigan IMHO)
Here they are
This is the Start of Basic Massage in Jan/Feb 2010
End of Basic Massage April 2010
Start of Assessment, Documentation, and Pathology in Sept/Oct 2010
These are obviously a little old, but they aren't far off from where I am currently, particularly the last one. I may edit this post and add more recent one's later.

The journey of a thousand miles
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
Lao-tzu, The Way of Lao-tzu
Chinese philosopher (604 BC - 531 BC)
I've never been what one would call a "little guy". I've always been the big guy in the room. You know the ones, the fat kid that gets picked on in school, the kid that is kinda awkward and quite sitting in the background, though one wonders how. The big guy with little self-confidence that wonders if he'll ever find that perfect someone because all the girls like the jocks.
Over the last few years I've changed some of that about myself. I did find that perfect someone and I thank God for her every day. She gave me three beautiful children, a boy (7) and two girls (6 and 3). I've moved on and have gained some self-confidence, particularly over the last year that had it's share of ups and downs. But now I am a Certified Massage Therapist, having finally found something that I love to do, it's my passion to help facilitate a person's healing.
But in all that, there is one thing that I still have that I feel holds me back from having a much more fulfilled life. My weight. It's the one thing that I still feel self-conscious about, even when I joke about the "keg", or act nonchalant about and say that "I've always felt big". I've had the "want" to get rid of the weight, but never the drive. It's time to change that.
I'm 28 year's old, father of 3, and husband. It's time to take my passion for healing and focus it on myself. It's time to start that "journey of a thousand miles" I must take that first step. This blog is about that journey, not only to lose weight, but to get fit and healthy. This journey to Fitness encompasses so much more than just weight loss and muscle tone, it's also spiritual and emotional health. Hopefully my journey can inspire others as well.
